PP-03
It was manufactured from 1984 by ZVT B.Bystrica. The computer was inspired by or was successor to TEXT01 a SM 50/40. Hardware is based on MHB8080A.Operating systems running on the computer: MIKROS-80,MIKROM-80.
The design of the PP 03 personal computer was inspired by the TEXT 01 (CM 6915) office system. The base unit contained a separate box with a built-in cartridge for up to eight 2/3 size SMEP boards, a built-in color (or black and white) monitor, space for two 130mm external disk drives and an integrated power supply with ventilation.
Contains SM 2138 processor board from SM 50/40.
The system architecture of the PP 03 personal computer was inspired by the original SM 50/40-1 microcomputer terminal station solution, but with a modification. The motherboard of the SM 50/40-1 microcomputer was expanded with a combined memory with a capacity of 48 KB DRAM and 16 KB EPROM, and instead of a simple video terminal CM 1601, a board for semi-graphic display with a resolution of 64 characters per line x 32 lines was added. It contained a programmable character generator capable of displaying 256 different characters in an 8 x 8 dot matrix. A control unit for two external 130 mm memories on flexible disks with a capacity of 2 x 160 KB (later also 320 KB) and possibly other optional boards from the SM 50/40-1 series, including programmable intermediate contacts IRPR and IRPS, board was also connected to this system for connecting to a local computer network of the ILPS type and other specialized boards, such as a mathematical processor or input-output modules of the unit of contact with the environment, up to a total of eight modules.
The software for the PP 03 included the Mikros 80 operating system, the resident part of which was stored in EPROM memory. The GBASIC translator and Mikrom 80 operating system were also available.
The keyboard and other devices were connected to the base unit via ILPS, IRPS and IRPR interface units, including a small mosaic printer with an IRPR interface.
