Overheating
IQ 151 was overheating:
RRŠ recalled in a discussion on root.cz:
"The IQ151 got so hot that you could make toast on those ribs up top. And if someone threw a match in it, it caught fire - and it didn't necessarily affect the computer's function!"
Chassis IQ 151 was made in several variants, bakelite and tin.
User T4r4n1s recalled the Bakelite version in a discussion on the root.cz server:
"I would just like to clarify the information about the IQ151 computer. The cover was not made of sheet metal, but of some kind of reactive plastic similar to Bakelite, but finer-grained and stronger. When the little one overheated (which happened normally when the "Merkur" stood on it without a wooden base), it was smelled of the typical smell of burnt Bakelite. We then made those bases in school workshops like Bata exercises."
