VARIEL is a network for IQ-151 using the SeStyk / SeStyk9 module. It was developed at the Institute of Computer Technology of the Czech Technical University.

Technical network solution

The network consists of a certain number of IQ 151 computers, which are connected to a common bus consisting of a two-wire line using Sestyk modules. The modified Sestyk / network module uses transmission in asynchronous mode at a speed of 32 kbit/sec, in the newer version at a speed of 115 kbit/sec.

From each IQ-151 comes a cable, at the end of which there is a connector, which

it must be plugged into the corresponding socket of the distribution installed in the computer lab. The marking of this distribution socket is communicated to the user by the technician who installs the computer network in the laboratory.
