SMEP
Small electronic computer system
The SMEP system was oriented towards control computers (workstations) and IBM PC compatible computers within the framework of RVHP from around 1980. The Research Institute of Computing Technology in Žilina (VÚVT Žilina) was the coordinating and solving workplace of the SMEP program in Czechoslovakia and in the RVHP.
The development of SMEP computers was inspired (copied) mainly by models compatible with these computers:
- Hewlett Packard HP-2000 series
- DEC PDP-11 and later DEC VAX-11
- 8-bit Intel 8080 processor
- 16-bit Intel 8086/8088 or 80286 processor
SMEP compatibility with PDP-11
At the HW or SW level.
- Magtape = MT11
- 8SD floppy disks (IBM 3740 CHS 77/1/26 format, 128 B/sector, image size 256256 B) = RX01
- 8DD floppy disks (IBM 3740 CHS 77/1/26 format, 256 B/sector, image size 512512B) = RX02
- ? 266240
