ULA1
Custom circuit marked KA1515XM1-216 (Абсибка КА1515ХМ1) (some pieces of this circuit are referred to as "ULA" only) for ZX spectrum compatible RVHP computers.
It implements (not fully compatible) the functionality of the similar Ferranti ULA6C001E circuit for the ZX Spectrum.
The sources differ in the "inspirational" source of the connection, some mention the Baltic computer, others the directly developed Didaktiku Skalica product.
One source states:
In 1990, P.R. Maševič, head of the microprocessor department at NIITT, saw the Didaktik Gama computer on a business trip to Slovakia. He visited the company Didaktik, studied the computer and proposed to replace the small logic with a semi-processor. The company was not enthusiastic, but gave him a wiring diagram and a copy of the computer. NIITT, under the leadership of general designer B.V. Iljichev, developed a completely original control unit based on the BMK KA1515ХМ1. ULA1 was marked for export. Samples of the microcircuit were sent to Slovakia through the embassy, but the developers of Didaktik Gama did not know how to use them and considered them unusable. So Maševič and Iljičev visited Slovakia to demonstrate the functionality of the microcircuits, and this finally convinced the management of Didaktika.
