Consul 2713
It was manufactured from 1981 by Zbrojovka Brno. Hardware is based on 74181.
Jiří Franek mentions the use of C2713 at MU in the article From the history of computing at MU. 4. Microcomputers. Reporter of the ÚT MU. ISSN 1212-0901, 2008, vol. XVIII, No. 4, pp. 13-16.: "Around 1980, it became clear that computer technology was penetrating all areas of university life, including the process of collecting and processing various data. data from the supplied paper forms into punched labels in specialized punches) ceased to be satisfactory, especially due to the detachment of the places of origin and acquisition of data, the impersonal approach of the acquirers to the data and the resulting number of errors present office workstations used both for the acquisition of data directly at the point of their creation, and secondly for the pre-processing of this data and its use - all this directly by ordinary office workers.
Zbrojovka Brno became one of the first manufacturers of these office data stations in our country - organizational machines - which developed a series of Consul 2711 to 2715 stations. They had the form (and size) of a work table with a built-in microcomputer, keyboard, mini-screen and 8-inch diskette drive. Since the Consulas were essentially relatively fast microcomputers for their time (base clock 14 microseconds) allowing normal programming, it was clear that the development of suitable software could make a very useful computer for general office use.
Therefore, in 1981, ÚVT established cooperation with Zbrojovka and with the programming team, which developed basic software for the entire Consul line. Furthermore, it was decided to purchase a certain amount of Consul 2713 machines for the needs of deans' offices and other workplaces of the university.
Type 2713 was chosen firstly because, unlike types 2711 and 2712, it allowed free programming, and also because it was no longer a "twin", i.e. a double workplace (double-desk) with one processor, one memory and one screen. divided into halves, and with two units of flexible discs. In addition, the 2713 Consulas were equipped with a dot matrix printer with the option of connecting a folded form device, and instead of a small mirror screen, a normal 14-inch Merkur TV was used."
